Bowls
There are three distinct techniques that we have applied in bowl designs that we have created… Mosaic, Drop Pots, and Pattern Bars. Mosaic designs are basically repeatable. These are created by placing cut glass and glass chips (known as “frit”) on a base color of glass (typically 16 inches in diameter) to create the design. Several popular bowl designs are shown below. Droppot bowls are not repeatable except for the basic coloring and approximate size. They are very “organic” in the way that the glass flows and swirls. In keeping with the free nature of the glass, a hand built donut shaped mold is used to slump (shape) the bowl. Patern bar bowls are also not repeatable except for basic colors used to create the pattern bar, and the way the bar pieces are arranged in the bowl.
