Welcome to Art to Harmony.
Thank you for visiting our website.ย Our site was totally disfunctional for a few years, but thanks to our nephew Gary Harding, it has been revitalized it so that we can present our glass art once again.ย
We specialize in one-of-a-kind pieces of glass art and show only representative pieces on our website rather than our current inventory. If you are interested in a particular piece but want it in different colors or shapes than we show, or even function (a clock rather than a bowl for example), contact us describing what you would like. We will explore the options with you (via phone and/or email) that could meet your desires or needs. Our phone # is 541-797-6890. Bob’s email is [email protected].
Thank you for your interest.
Down below is our “latest” WHAT’S NEW, and as can be seen, it is current. Yahoo…. took a while!! Anyway, we are alerting our visitors to the site that we will be participating in/offering glass fusion classes to interested parties in the Bend area. If it is something you might be interested in, read the post below.
Floral Baskets, Pupu Dishes, and Bubble Bowls
The urge to create new glass art pieces is a continuous driving force that energizes Sandy and I with excitement every day. We are always making somethingโฆ many are small items (jewelry, cheese plates, six inch dishes) to replace items sold at the Marriott or Maui Hands or the Lahaina Art Association. In addition to the staples, we also get to create some of the bigger bowls and baskets similar to those that have previously sold. They are โsimilarโ only in general color and feelingโฆ each bowl or basket is unique and truly one-of-a-kind. And, every now and then, we create a totally new designโฆ. thatโs the subject of this โWhatโs Newโ.
The first two photos are of a new basket design by Bob. They are intended to look like well known flowers. The first photo was created to represent the Black Eyed Susan. Curved strips of opaque and transparent marigold yellow were fused to create the petals. The flowerโs center was created using opaque brown glass and black frit (glass chips). To strengthen the piece structurally, transparent Spring Green leaves were fused between petals to complete the design.
The second photo is of a similarly constructed floral basket intended to represent the poinsettia. The petals were created using opaque and transparent red glass; the center using spring green, red, orange and yellow frit on a dark green base; and the leaves using adventurine green. Because of the similarity of technique, these baskets can be found in the โCoral Basketโ section of our website. The third photo is of a pair of new dishes that have been added to our repertoireโฆ Pupu Dishes. โPupuโ is Hawaiian for hor dโoeuvre โฆ but much easier to spell! They are 4โ by 13โ and are currently available with Wave Motif (by Sandy) and Honu Motif (by Bob). These are included in the Cheese Plate section on our website.
The fourth and fifth photos are of bubble bowls created by Sandy. One is of a rainbow rising from the sea. The other is an abstract floral in transparent reds, orange, and marigold yellow. These can be found on our website under Bowls.
Aloha and Mahaloโฆโฆ.Bob
